Awesome Adventures

Our friend Zach, captain of a 39-foot luxury catamaran (Must B. Crazy) offers a variety of sailing packages through Nica Sail n Surf.

Nica Sail n Surf specializes in 1/2 day sailing trips that we love to partake in with friends. You’ll leave the port at 1:00 pm and sail to a private beach (Playa Blanco) where you can swim, relax and kick back.

Awesome Adventures

Zach serves homemade ceviche, guacamole and salsa as an afternoon snack which is best washed down with ice cold Tona. Speaking of Tona – it – along with it’s friend Flor de Cana – flows steadily from the time you leave port all the way back to San Juan del Sur.

Sailing back into the bay just as the sun sets over the pacific makes for a perfect day. At $60 USD for the 1/2 day tour this adventure is definitely good bang for your buck.

Our friend Blue offers horseback riding tours with a twist.

Our friend Blue offers horseback riding tours with a twist.

Blue picks you up in San Juan del Sur, drives you 30 minutes to her ranch that’s located on a nature reserve overlooking the ocean.

You’ll get “cowboyed up” – which is a necessity – because the tour includes a photo shoot. Jamie and Blue will guide you through the reserve to see some monkeys and down to the beach for sunset. Fun, rum and a ride back to town are all included in the package.

– Horsing around!

Great memories won’t be the only thing that you go home with. Blue’s photography is amazing and you will leave with the best photos of your vacation.

Our friend Salomon gave Gordon his very first tattoo right here in San Juan del Sur nearly five years ago.

Amazing Adventures

– The beginning of another long day for Gordon

Salomon tattoos year round in Lucerne, Switzerland but travels back to San Juan del Sur to surf a couple of times per year. He’ll be here for the month of January so if you’d like first class work done at third world prices you will need to contact him in advance.

You wouldn’t typically describe your vehicle rental experience as an adventure, but…we are in Nicaragua. Sure you could rent a brand new pick up truck from Budget or Alamo, but that will never get you invited to lead an Ox Cart Pub Crawl on St. Patrick’s Day.

Toyota Land Cruiser Truck Rental Nicaragua

– Jon is leading the way. There were two more carts out of frame.

You can decide to get around like a Gringo or instead rent one of Jon’s retro jeeps and show up like a cool, savvy Nica traveler.

Our friend Jon rents out classic Toyota Land Cruisers. Not only are they are perfectly suited for the beach roads around San Juan del Sur, but they’ll get you there in style.
